WOMEN'S
PERSONAL HYGIENE
Everyone is aware that maintaining good
personal hygiene is essential to good health. It goes without saying that this
guideline applies to women's health in general and to their personal hygiene.
Of course, it's preferable to discuss such a sensitive subject with a gynecologist.
Basic Guidelines
1: Washing with warm, clean water at least twice a day is required. You have the option of using specific intimate hygiene products available in pharmacies or none as a cleaning agent. The atmosphere of soaps, shower gels, and other products is alkaline, but the environment of the vagina is acidic. A vital element in preserving a healthy vaginal environment and safeguarding it from harmful germs is the pH's acidity and the lactobacilli that reside on the mucosa. The use of goods in an alkaline environment regularly weakens this protection and speeds up the onset of disease.
2: It is important to make sure that all hand or water jet movements during hygiene procedures are made from front to back. By moving backward, microorganisms from the anus can enter the vaginal mucosa, which can result in inflammatory disorders.
3: The towel should always be unique, soft, and clean. Some dangerous
germs can survive on fabrics, napkins, and other surfaces, and they can spread
to people when they meet these surfaces.
4: Vaginal douching, or "rinsing from the inside," is a
medical operation that should only be carried out under a doctor's supervision
and with the use of specific solutions based on the ailment. This surgery is
unnecessary for healthy women and may even be harmful.
5: Daily use of sanitary napkins and synthetic underwear can encourage
the growth of bacteria, lessen the protective qualities of the vaginal mucosa,
and ultimately lead to the disease. So it's best to use natural-fiber underwear
and only use panty liners when absolutely required.
6: A woman of any age who engages in sexual activity should see a gynecologist
at least once a year, even if there are no symptoms, for the early detection
and prevention of disorders of the female genital area. It is important to keep
in mind that some diseases may take a very long time to show symptoms.
7: The critical days are a unique time in a woman's body when there is little
ovarian hormone in the blood, the body's defenses are
diminished, the local immune system is impaired, and the uterine cavity is an
enormous wound surface from the inside.
The guidelines below must be followed to protect women's health while
they are menstruating:
1: Tampons should be replaced every two hours and pads every four to five hours. Blood-soaked intimate hygiene items need to be replaced immediately since they serve as an ideal environment for bacteria to grow.
2: It is prohibited to swim in reservoirs, go to the pool, take a
bath, or otherwise enter the water. A mucous plug that normally shields the
uterine cavity from external microorganisms emerges from the tiny cervical
canal during menstruation, making the cavity open to bacteria found in the
water. 3: Additionally, you should refrain from having sex while you are
menstruating as this can also lead to uterine infection.
4: Heavy lifting and excessive exercise should be avoided. You cannot
press or conduct activities where you lift your pelvis above your head.
However, you must keep in mind that light activities like walking and physical
education might lessen menstrual pain.
5: Visits to hot tubs and saunas are also not recommended because the heat causes blood vessels to dilate and cause more bleeding.
6: The lower back, lower abdomen, legs, and overall hypothermia shouldn't be permitted since they can lead to the onset of chronic inflammatory illnesses of the reproductive and urinary systems.
